After you’ve initially completed your profile, you can add even more fields to help you stand out. Click “My Account” in the top right corner of your screen to access and edit your profile. From here you can answer additional questions, upload more documents, request referrals, add license verifications, and edit any of the other information you have already provided.
If you’d like to provide even more background on your legal and non-legal experience, you can do so by answering optional Additional Questions. These range from listing your publications to highlighting any clerk experience to identifying your strongest legal skill. You may answer as many or few of these questions as you’d like.
A referral is a recommendation from a former colleague, professor, manager, or mentor who can speak to your professional skills and attributes.
Requesting a referral is easy! When you edit your profile, just click “Referrals”. From here you can submit the email address of your referrer. They will then receive an email from Lawyer Exchange guiding them through our quick referral process. You may want to give them a heads up before submitting your request.
If you’re dissatisfied with a referral you’ve received, you can delete it when editing your profile. Simply scroll down to “Manage My Referrals”. There is no limit to the number of referrals you can have on your profile.
The final aspect of your Lawyer Exchange Profile is your star rating. This is determined by averaging the ratings you have received from Hiring Lawyers after you complete projects. Read more about our ratings system here.
