After you’ve completed your initial profile, you can add even more fields to help you stand out! Simply click “My Profile” at the top of your screen, and then click the green button labeled “Edit Profile”. From here you can answer additional questions, request recommendations, and edit any of the other information you have already provided.
A recommendation is a referral from a former colleague, professor, manager, or mentor who can speak to your professional skills and attributes.
Requesting a recommendation is easy! When you edit your profile, just click “Recommendation”. From here you can submit the email address of your referrer. They will then receive an email from Lawyer Exchange guiding them through our quick recommendation process. You may want to give them a heads up before submitting your request.
If you’re dissatisfied with a recommendation you’ve received, you can delete it when editing your profile. Simply scroll down to “Manage My Recommendations”. There is no limit to the number of recommendations you can have on your profile.
If you’d like to provide even more background on your legal and non-legal experience, you can do so by answering optional Additional Questions. These range anywhere from listing your publications to highlighting any clerk experience to identifying your strongest legal skill. You may answer as many or few of these questions as you’d like.
The final aspect of your Lawyer Exchange Profile is your rating. This is determined by averaging the ratings you have received from Hiring Lawyers after you complete projects.
